Great gate for dogs but not for ferrets.
I cannot give this gate a bad review. I've spent years looking for gates my ferrets can't get through. Most of them can jump up and reach up. You can't do it with it, but you can climb it. I even tried modifying it with cardboard. nope Still does not work. They get under the loose part in the box and still climb on it. This is a great gateway for other animals. Just no ferrets.
