I have space for a small storage bag on the side and I could have chosen the largest mat but didn't see the need to load the entire trunk. It slides out lengthwise and my storage bag fits on the side, giving me the option to put things in the mat to protect against spills, or I have space to just put things on the carpet. I wouldn't call it heavy duty, but it's not flimsy either and the sides don't flex easily when you put something large on them, but they do flex a little. Super light. Not grippy, things slip unless they are heavy. A really great option for transporting plants and gas bottles in the trunk without worrying about spills. It doesn't quite match the original Honda trunk mat in performance, but it's a good option if you're looking to save around a hundred dollars on your purchase. To be honest I'm so impressed with this I'm going to buy a bigger one and use it with dog pee pads around the house to help contain this whole situation. I think someone else checked this out for this reason and thought how clever. In any case, this is an affordable option for a car or home. Also can hold dirty shoes, whatever he can do.
