Even works with a 10/15ft USB3.0 cable

Product works fine for me. Now I can plug in my keyboard and mouse in front of my desk and keep my computer away from the other end of the desk. And I didn't have to drill the table or rely on crappy glue, it doesn't get in the way of my chair or take up extra space on the table. cable also) USB3.0 extension cable, the device works fine. I tested a USB 3.0 flash drive and a USB 3.0 SSD and they both performed at the same speed (with the included cable and with a 15/10 foot extension cable) compared to them plugged directly into the USB 3.0 -connections of the PC were connected. But as for using extension cords, for some reason a USB port on the front of my PC was slowing down (while using the included cable the speed was normal), but those ports have cables added to the motherboard, so it might the reason may be the problem (I'm not sure, just a guess), or something is different/wrong with that port. What didn't work was trying to use the MyPassport hard drive. These drives seem to draw all of the current supplied by the USB3.0 port, and since this hub doesn't supply its own current, I believe it divides the 1 amp that the main port receives by 250mA for each port (because I have tried just plugging in a hard drive to see if it gets full power and it didn't). So if you use a USB 3.0 hard drive that is not separately powered, it will not work or transfer files very slowly (in my case). But SSD / flash drives consume very little power and there will be no problems with them. Since that 1 amp is likely to be shared, using them for charging is not a good idea. Your best bet is to get a USB power adapter from QC and charge it. 1 star does not deliver full performance on every USB 3.0 port.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
