I needed a pair of 9mm x 1.5mm o-rings to reseal a leaking swivel on a hose reel. The spool falls into the "almost junk but still better than nothing" category and eats its seals every few years. I didn't need anything chemical resistant or ultra high pressure, just some round pieces of rubber to keep air from escaping. was actually a few bucks cheaper but with this kit I get a choice of many different metric sizes. I have a pretty good supply of SAE O-rings but not too many metrics so the solution was easy. These o-rings are made of nitrile rubber and personally I wouldn't use them to seal anything other than relatively low pressure, low temperature air or water. - definitely no hydrocarbons, strong solvents or anything else at very high temperature or pressure. In other words, I mainly use them to replace O-rings in typical homeowner's materials. That's where the advantage of a good value range like this comes in - a bunch of different sizes to save you the hassle or to save you a trip to the store. So now my hose reel is back together and there are almost no leaks. . The leaks are enough to turn on the compressor about once a week, but the o-rings aren't to blame. Fittings suck and I can live with that until I find a better hose reel. Meanwhile, this series gets 5 stars - not because it's aerospace quality (it shouldn't be), but because it's very good value for its intended purpose.
