Pros: * The advertised speed of "up to 25 pages per minute" is achieved at the setting you are most likely to use: 300 dpi duplex. (If you go to 400+dpi it runs slower)* You can run it from a USB stick if you want. (But it runs 4X slower)* Mac drivers are not bloated. You don't have to install the entire software package - just the drivers if you want - and then use the simple and handy Mac Image Capture program. * Installing drivers does not require a reboot. interchangeable over time, cheap. ($25 for the take-up roll, $15 for the rubber side separator)* The device is built to last. The paper feed guides may look spartan, but they work very well. Caveats: * You won't get 25ppm unless you're using an external power supply and not USB3.0. Place documents face down: nothing to do with the flat paper path. * The device buttons have no function unless you are using the full software set. * I haven't tried the card scanner so I don't know if you can do it without the kit * Software not included; it needs to be downloaded. (Is that really a problem?) * I haven't tried the included software, but other reviewers mention it's interface junk. Sad. If you can get by with image capture, you should do it.
