Review on Pelikan Opaque Watercolor Chinese 720862 by Gelin Battle

This is a great little gouache kit for everyone to own. I like very bright and vivid colors. I particularly like that they offer a cool and warm range of reds, yellows, greens and blues, as well as ocher and fair skin tones. Which is important if, like me, you mix your own complementary colors. I went back to drawing and painting so slowly built up my watercolor and acrylic palettes and tubes and spent quite a bit of money on an art quality watercolor palette. Because of this, I didn't have much money to buy 2 sets of gouache that interested me. This set had great reviews and a lot of colors for the price. I expected it to be a good set, but nothing special; a student set that might have been perfect for me. This and more, high quality student set but also perfect as an affordable gouache-like palette for those who want to get started with gouache or gouache-like watercolors without going broke :) As others have said, just build your layers slowly . and you will have no chalk for the most part. I'm still saving up for a set of Holbein Brights gouaches but these are perfect for me at the moment. I was very pleasantly surprised by the abundance of colors in this palette. I used gouache titanium white in the tube for the effect of opaque white splashes. Overall I think it's worth the purchase price, you won't be disappointed.
