We have a modular kayak which often gives us strange looks when we travel. It's really useful but difficult to store. I found these straps after some research and couldn't be happier. They are very easy to install and very reliable. We decided to install them outside to free up even more space in the garage. Put them in the shade when you put them outside so you don't have a problem with the kayak. I remembered doing that while reading last year. The straps are strong and comfortable for one person to use. As a note, if you make a loose loop at one end and thread the nose of the kayak through just enough to support it, the other side can be clipped off with little effort. I was concerned about this but was pleasantly surprised. I decided to put mine a little higher than the ground. (I don't have many great assistants in the house yet.)
