Yes it is a bit expensive when you can buy a microwave cover for a quarter of the price of this silicone glass cover. And I'm so glad I did. It works great and I don't mind other reviews that it doesn't ventilate well. Yes, there is some condensation on the inside of the top of the lid after use, but it's a little fiddly to wipe it off. I find the size and height and diameter to fit most of my bowls and plates. Don't make up your mind and buy this instead of the cheap plastic ones.
