I have an elderly, almost blind, deaf but happy German Shepherd. He loves to go "bye" but can't jump in my Tahoe anymore. It was a find. First I have to guide him and ask the assistant to stand on the other side so he doesn't fall on the other side. but he also wants to "go" and trusts me, so he approaches hesitantly. He was slow and thoughtful the first time ---- He wasn't sure at first, but every time we use him he becomes more confident. I have the six speed model and it goes perfectly with my Tahoe. I LOVE IT! The service was excellent and quick. I would give TEN stars if I could. I have others and the ramps are terrible. It's up to you to help your dog "feel" a little first because it's footsteps, but I put his paw on and kicked, he thought briefly, then I put the other paw on, then he had it idea and become a little more self-confident. and it was over. Buy it and try it if you have an older or small dog. This is a great product and the service is the same
