Review on Optical Cerium Windshield Binocular Scratches by Brent Dietrich

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The windshield is new again!

The thing works. I hadn't had my new car in forty-eight hours when I accidentally turned on the wipers and got a bad scratch. I used cerium oxide powder and water with the new round pad they use to apply car wax. Luckily, I also found a Velcro handle on the bottom that attached to the waxing pad, which made the job that much easier. The work was slow and took three days. About three hours a day (fifteen to twenty minutes at a time, or until my hand gives out) and a lot of effort, but all that effort went into making the windshield as good as new. When working on the windshield, I tried to cover a very large area so as not to just focus on the area of the scratch that would distort the glass. I soaked a small amount of cerium oxide in a bowl of tap water. It was about the consistency of milk. Just do it slowly and steadily, using a clean terry towel to clean up between sessions. Much luck.
