One end failed after the second hatch opening. The ends, although metal, are poorly finished. The groove in which the spring clip is located is not deep enough to securely hold the ball end of the latch in the socket under the action of the forces involved in opening and closing the hatch. When it failed, it damaged my paintwork. The only positive thing is that the gas bottle works perfectly. I replaced the ends with factory ball ends, luckily the threads are the same. The ends are simply screwed onto the OE and these. So if you buy these, simply swap the ends before installation to save yourself a headache. If I were to buy interchangeable posts again I would either buy something better quality or look to the future I would just swap the ends first. My sunroof now opens, so 2 stars instead of 1.
