Review on πŸ”§ UCTRONICS Ultimate Raspberry Pi 4 Rack: 19" 1U Rackmount with OLED Display, Power Switch, Cooling Fan & All IO on One Side by Michael Lara

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fans are dying - also runs 10 degrees hotter with PoE

Before the fans died (high pitched squeak) I noticed that when using the PoE hat my temps went up to 110 degrees for a couple of PiHole/Home Bridge Pi4s . I was able to get the CPU temperature below 100Β°C by manually turning off the PoE output from my switch - the default setting is PoE when both USB and Ethernet power are connected. The display works well, but the software is obviously not properly maintained. However, it only took about an hour to fully understand the software, so that's a good thing. Mounting - There are 2 screws that attach each Pi to the bracket - the screw that attaches to the right side (facing the OLED) doesn't snag on the assembly and is easy to remove due to the length. I had to unscrew the top pieces to even bite the screws. Longer screws would solve this problem. Now back to the fans - even before they broke (my friends fans all broke too, as did literally all of them), my closet, which had about 20 fans, was silent when the door was closed. Something about the fan itself and the lack of a proper damping mount meant that my entire rack was now making a low pitched sound that literally kept me up through two walls at night. And yes, it's an annoying high frequency noise when you a) have a running fan and b) are working in a common area with the Pi. I can't imagine what 4 Pi would sound like. 2 was bad enough. He went back to the boxes on the shelf for me. This is very bad. OLED displays were the main feature here.
