Best 1u PI mount I've found

I ordered this to be able to mount two Raspberry PI 4b. One is used for dashboard (using Dakboard) and the other is a console server for some switches in the rack. A metal stand mount is included and the power switches are already installed. There are packages for the add-on board (with moving fan and SD card), the HDMI board, and various parts and screws. The only problems I had were during assembly. The LCD display is mounted on two studs welded to the stand. You have to put two small nuts on

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

No wonder: computers and accessories

I've had this item for about a month now. It looks nice at first glance, but that impression fades when you start collecting things. Rather than using screws, half the device is supported by thin pieces of plastic, so only half of the Pi is securely attached to the mount and you have to wiggle around a lot to make sure the I/O connectors, a few real screws, and the plastic pins all fit together correctly. It's quite frustrating, but once you figure out how to attach the first one (and it's…

Fans are dying - also runs 10 degrees hotter with PoE

Before the fans died (high pitched squeak) I noticed that when using the PoE hat my temps went up to 110 degrees for a couple of PiHole/Home Bridge Pi4s . I was able to get the CPU temperature below 100°C by manually turning off the PoE output from my switch - the default setting is PoE when both USB and Ethernet power are connected. The display works well, but the software is obviously not properly maintained. However, it only took about an hour to fully understand the software, so that's a…

Defective Item [UPDATE]

Completely Defective Item. The instructions are 100% unclear as to what equipment goes where. None of the micro nuts screw in properly. My POE cap broke (the soldered piece broke off completely). The supplied screws are either too loose or too thick to screw the metal frame properly. I'll update this review after contacting the manufacturer, but for now it's useless. [UPDATE] I finally installed Raspberry Pis. Mounting an OLED screen on a stand is cancer. I'm pretty sure I'm overstepping the…

A little touchy UPDATED September 18, 2021

I have 4 of these to move a Raspberry Pi-4B to USB/SSD, I also have a UCTRONICS Ultimate POE rack. While I'm generally happy with this whole configuration, I've found that all cables can be a little touchy with even the slightest movement, resulting in a loss of connection to the device. I 3D printed a support/stopper for a SATA cable, fixing issues with an accidentally moved/disconnected hidden connection while working on the back of a network rack. I monitor USB connection cables to make sure

Excellent option for rack mounting Raspberry Pis

I was looking at a non-POE version of this rack mount for our Raspberry Pis but hesitated because I really wanted POE. I checked the UCTRONICS website to see if they have a POE model and surprisingly it was on their website. I've emailed the sales team to ask when it will be available on Revain. They were quick to reply that it would be on Revain in about a week and said they would email me when the time came. Of course, they kept their word and emailed me the link about a week later. Ordered…

Slightly sensitive UPDATED SEPTEMBER 18, 2021

I have 4 of these to port a Raspberry Pi-4B to USB/SSD, I also have a UCTRONICS Ultimate POE Rack. While I'm generally happy with this whole configuration, I've found that the cables can all be a bit sensitive to even the slightest movement, causing them to lose connection with the device. I 3D printed a support/stopper for a SATA cable, fixing issues with hidden connections moving/disconnecting unintentionally while working on the back of a network rack. I monitor USB patch cords to make sure…

I set up a POE "Ultimate " rack for two Raspberry Pi computers.

I was going to shut down my old Xeon server and use an RPis or two instead. It looked like a good rack, so I ordered a faceplate for the main rack and two POE redirection cards. Since I only needed two, I also ordered blind covers for the other two places. First impression - Everything is metal, smooth edges and well painted. Continuous. Looking at the task at hand, I realized that there is no USB on the back of the rack - only available from the front. (The first improvement requirement is to…
