Review on Powerline Pass Thru Homeplug Ethernet PLA6456KIT by Jonathan Self

This is my second set of Zyxel powerline adapters. I bought my first Zyxel PLA5405 kit in 2018 and it has proven to be incredibly reliable. Now I had to add 2 more places. And I wasn't sure if these newer PLA5456 units would be backwards compatible (as it turns out, they were!). This is a good solution when the WiFi is not strong enough in a certain part of the house. Or maybe you don't want WiFi for some special reason. Obviously a Category 6 cable is the best solution, but sometimes it can be impractical. (and expensive). Speed: You need to set realistic expectations for speed. These devices transmit network data using radio signals through your home's electrical wiring. The wiring was never designed for this use. And despite the fact that this is amazing technology, the speeds aren't out of the ordinary. But they are consistent. However, I'm not sure if this is the best solution for avid online gamers. Customization: You don't need to be a tech to set them up. A minimal understanding of what and where your router is and knowing what an ethernet cable is should be enough for me. They provide a quick guide that explains it very simply. And it doesn't require NULL programming. Can this be used in an apartment? Yes I did this for the first 2 years of owning my old devices and they worked great. Now I live in the house and they continue to work great.
