I bought this to try frying and to constantly check the temperature. Unfortunately it stopped reading the exact temperature after the first use. When I first used it it kept tipping over so some oil came out of the oil and I had to keep pushing it back. When I tried it a second time, it stayed a little better, but it was inaccurate. I checked the temp and it was about 250 degrees so I turned up the heat when it hit 365 degrees. I put the onion rings in and they darkened so quickly that they weren't cooked inside. I took out my digital meat thermometer to check and the temp was over 400 degrees but this thermometer still read about 250 degrees. I will try to return. Big disappointment.
