I bought these brushes for washing eggs - I learned this little trick at the San Francisco Baking Institute. I love how smooth they are and how much liquid they can hold which is a great helper when working with a lot of items. I haven't had any problems with hair loss, but the thread that holds the pieces of wood together and "sews" through the bristles begins to unravel almost immediately. I can attribute it to that particular brush, but it let it down a bit. I'll try again in the future when I'm ready to update and see if this is a general issue or just an element, but for now I like the brushes. If you buy them for groceries, never use anything heavy. on it like butter etc. They are excellent for washing eggs and water.
