I bought this safety bar about a year ago because I'm a college student living off campus in a not great area of town. My bedroom has a door that leads directly outside, which frightened me greatly and I knew I needed to take extra precautions to ensure my safety. A few days ago my house was broken into (no one was in the house as we are all home for the holidays). Although there are only 4 doors in our home that are in/out, the choice of entrance for these particular burglars was the door to my bedroom.
