My failed attempt to keep the caretaker.

The caretaker of my apartment complex gained access this morning. (I bought this for this exact purpose. I have a studio, I sleep naked and don't get up until 11:00 after the handyman ignores the sign I have on my door in September and 9:00 went in while I was in bed. I was angry and ordered this, hoping to prevent similar occurrences in the future.)

Flawed and disappointed

Waste of money! He was defective. The reason I know this is because my sister ordered two for her apartment which worked really well but the one I ordered when one rod slid into the other the little piece of metal coming through the hole goes, did not come out completely. So someone could slide the door under the handle because the metal part gave and the latch wouldn't close. I didn't send it back. Very disappointed as I could have spent more than $22 elsewhere. I will not recommend this…

Destroyed doorknob/knob

This resulted in the doorknob being pushed too hard causing the doorknob latch to not close. At this point the only way the door stays shut is by placing a heavy object in front of the door until I can find a helper here to REPLACE or repair the doorknob/latch. I took a photo showing the wax stick pushing down on the handle so hard it moves the doorknobs/knobs up a quarter of an inch. However, this does not allow me to send a photo. This product is great!

that I ordered not so much for security reasons as to protect the door from opening. We have a large dog who can open the door and has to keep unlocking and locking the door so it stays closed during the day. I use this instead and it works great! The rubber base stays firmly on my laminate, and the rubber joint under the doorknob doesn't slip or damage hardware. It is very durable and adjustable. No plastic parts. Great product that works

I bought this safety bar about a year ago because I'm a college student living off campus in a not great area of town. My bedroom has a door that leads directly outside, which frightened me greatly and I knew I needed to take extra precautions to ensure my safety.
