Flowmaster soft sound but not very loud

It's not nearly as loud as I expected, the sound is nice and smooth but I wanted an "aggressive" sound. I won't shoot, but if I knew that I wouldn't have bought it. A friend of mine also has a 40 and its rumble is gentle but significantly louder than mine. Maybe it takes a little getting used to, I'm not sure, but I'm a little disappointed with it so far.
