Too much extension in the toe area is annoying, too small a spike or numb pattern will make it feel uneven.
The sock extends well beyond my fingertips. I felt like I was wearing clown shoes. I've noticed other shoes with similar bell bottoms, I think to give the shoe a more attractive look. I am not a friend of such nonsense. Also, I feel that the manufacturer doesn't stretch the lug pattern far enough as the shoes feel a little weird on hard floors. I felt my legs were unsupported. On the lawn they were fine.
