I bought 50w for my 10g. I had to turn off this heater, which is why the red light is not on in the photo. I set it between 72-75 degrees and as you can see on my aquarium thermometer it reads 82 degrees! 82 is the MAX temperature for guppies, but I have other species of fish that live near them that prefer the middle range. One fish has already died. At first I thought "He was older, maybe his time has come." (I've had it for 3 years) Then after checking the temperature and seeing how warm it is: -0 The heater turned on never turned off after reaching my chosen temperature. It's hot here in Cali so we turned on the AC and I thought maybe that's why it never turns off. I was wrong. Luckily none of my other fish have died yet. Unfortunately I'm not sure if I can return it as I threw the box away after a few weeks. > Put your palm up to look at the emoji
