What's better than OEM filters? My research suggests that for safety reasons OEM

If you read reviews of non-OEM oil filters you will find that some brands, even well known ones, skimp on things essential to the filters are functioning. engine lubrication system. Metal parts versus plastic or paper parts, the function of the drain check valve, and even the reliability of the o-ring/seal make me prefer OEM oil filters. I also think buying from Revain is the best way to go as there are sellers who give discounts and make DIY oil changes even more economical. BMW OEM filters come with all required drain plugs and filter gaskets. There is no need to search for OEM seals and order a few to have on hand when changing the oil. Incidentally, Subaru sells their own 0-20 synthetic oil, and I tried it when the factory-filled oil needed changing. You can get it from the dealer. I looked at several well known brands and found Mobil-1 0-20 to reduce the typical Subaru knock when starting. My wife (it's her car) mentioned that the noise was significantly reduced - without my asking. There's something to consider - even if you're changing the oil yourself. I'm looking for TOTAL 0-20 oils because when I switched to their 5-40 for my Mobil 1 Porsche, my oil consumption on the track dropped dramatically. My 2.0 liter turbo Audi has an OVERALL summer oil temp that is 10 degrees lower compared to the Castrol 5-40. Just sharing my thoughts - recommendations are not paid and none of these oils are Vine (ie free) for me. Happy car!
