Pros: Super cheap. Much brighter than I expected. No drilling is required for my setup (tailgate of a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek). Comes with two kinds of spare bulbs for installation. Disadvantages: LEDs are not protected by any housing. Has held up so far, but is definitely not waterproof. Smaller than I expected (but also lighter, so it doesn't matter). Setup: I'm in search and rescue, so I wanted a bright light on the tailgate lid so I could see what gear I was grabbing while loading. This strip comes with a plug that will replace your existing lightbulb (so no switches or fuses required). at the fork and at the lantern are about three inches long so I removed them and added my own 16 ga. I took it to the hatch and used the lantern's self-adhesive backing to make it stick. It's been in there for a month now with no problems. And not only does it provide plenty of light from behind, it also illuminates the surrounding area, which is great when your team needs to prepare for rough terrain. If (when) this dies I'll replace it with something more reliable, but as a proof of concept and for $10 I was impressed! UPDATE: It's been about a year since I bought it and it's still working. I accidentally ripped it off several times but it survived and still works with a new strip of tape!
