I recently had to replace my outdoor lighting. The previous owner of our house put some BR40 bulbs in when they should have been PAR38 bulbs. He got away with it because the BR40 bulbs were about the same diameter for it to work. Modern LED BR40 are much narrower. When I put in some PAR38 LEDs I found that the spacers would have worked but they stretched a bit due to the BR40 installation. I bought a couple of these sets and they worked like clockwork. Since then I do not have problems anymore.
