I love this machine. It is highly portable and supports a variety of formats from CD-RW to DVD-RW. All you have to do is plug it into a USB port and you're done. You don't need an external power source because USB does all the work, communication and power in a single cable. I'm a big audiophile and bought this to burn FLAC files to CD-A and enjoy the best sound quality a CD has to offer. The reason I give it 4 stars is that this drive cannot burn discs at 4x speed, which is the speed required to burn CD-A, especially if you want to avoid bugs or compatibility issues when playing older disc versions . CD players lying around your house. The slowest speed this drive offers is 10x. That being said, I've tried playing a CD-A recorded on this drive on a standard Philips portable CD player and it sounds great. I do not recommend using the Nero music burning software included in this package. I'd rather download and use a free tool like ImgBurb as it's simpler and can warn you about missing codecs and filters that you might need to create multimedia discs.
