Installed a second bilge pump above the first and used this switch to install. It was never activated by the water level as the primary still governs everything. I check it manually by pulling the switch up before I set off and don't you know it wasn't working properly yesterday when I was getting the boat ready for Elsa's storm? I took it off and checked it with an ohmmeter and didn't find anything in either the open or closed position. Got another one but am very disappointed I only got 11 months from him as he rarely has to work. Use this as a reason to install a backup bilge pump... Maybe at least one will work if needed!
