How many ways are there of misassembling something? Well, apparently quite a lot. By the 4th we figured it all out, but do yourself a favor and REALLY read the instructions, follow them carefully. Collect a J-Bar end-to-end instead of assembly line in case you get off track. We had to disassemble two to correct a mistake made early in the process. But when they're together, they're easy to put on and take off the rack, and they're very durable. We have a Toyota 4Runner with very flat bars and they work great. I was concerned about the clearance under the handlebars to access the buttons for installation, but the clearance on our bars was more than enough. Basically I am very satisfied with the grid.
