A lot of people seem to have trouble interpreting the international style symbolic instructions that come with this lock, but with a little thought and care I was able to reset the combination and use the lock with no problem. If you're unsure of the instructions, another reviewer (Jason "yankees368") posted clear, concise text instructions that clear the ambiguities for a different version of this lock. I've copied his instructions below as they are the same: As mentioned in previous reviews, the instructions for this thing look like they were written by a two year old. To set this lock: 1. Set the lock to the current code. It comes factory installed with all 0's2. Insert the metal key into the lock with the 2 yellow dots at the bottom.3. Turn the metal key until the 2 yellow dots match and form a yellow line.4. Go to your new Code5. WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT MOVE THE GRINDER AT ANY TIME DURING THIS STEP. During this step it's very easy to accidentally move the combination by a number or 2 and this will ruin your lock permanently (if you don't remember the forgotten combination). Now turn the metal key back to its original position and again break the yellow line into 2 yellow dots. You are down now. To LOCK the product in the device: 1. Tie the looped lock to something. Insert the lock into the device and then rotate it 90 degrees. If you did it right the lock won't come out of the device BUT YOU ARE NOT DONE. 4. By pressing the button at the end of the lock, you move the lock to the wrong position. the code. This should lock the latch and prevent it from rotating in the device. Check that the device is secure by pulling several times. To UNLOCK: 1. Re-enter the correct code. The button is automatically unclicked. 2. Rotate 90 degrees 3. Remove from device. Wasn't that easy, Kensington?
