I bought these to practice roller derby. They are fine. Basically, if you are a beginner or expect to fall frequently, you should not buy them. I already know , like skating but I'm learning more advanced techniques and these pads just don't cut me in. I'm short and bought a size up, the pads are for very tight pads, they don't feel strong and the plastic protector on it feels that way on fall off.
