Tightly packed according to some other reviews. I got frustrated trying to separate them. Then the first wax was poured in, the bottom melted and the wax was all over my counter. I've found that letting the wax sit for 30-60 seconds and then pouring works well. The wax will not stick to the containers when you try to remove it.
