I bought these to replace the speakers in a Larson 21ft Bowrider (2004, 212 LSI). I don't listen to music on the boat; I only needed them to a) look good and b) function. Installation was easy (needed to drill new holes as Larson used an odd OEM size - not this product's fault) but didn't take long. After connecting to the stock Clarion head unit, I ran it. I was expecting AM radio quality sound (due to the brand, price and 5.25 inch speaker size). To my surprise, I was wrong! so much so that I'm now considering installing two more. They won't shake the house but I was legitimately pleased with their work considering the price. I was expecting the sound quality to be the same as the speakers they put in my RV are terrible.) These are way better than these. The only reason I gave one star was because of the weather protection. The backs of the speakers are less protected than the stock speakers I removed. Due to the placement in my boat, the speakers protrude into storage spaces under the seats at the back, wet life jackets and the like definitely drip off there, so I would have liked a little more weather protection than the standard equipment.
