Loud, great little marine speakers!

These speakers are amazing! I installed them after blowing out the factory speakers in our new pontoon the second time around. The Jensen radio put out too many watts for the two 50W speakers that came from the factory. The only problem with installation was that the hole had to be enlarged by 1/4". The screw holes align, but the magnet housing is quite bulky. But after installing 4 of these I can't blow at full volume and I don't even drive at 3/4 volume because they are loud!Half volume…

Good sound for a very reasonable price.

Installed these on my fishing boat to replace the original speakers that were beginning to squeak. Overall I am very happy with the quality at a very reasonable price. I just hook them up to a newer basic Pioneer stereo and they play clean sound at a moderate volume which is all I need. Like most cheaper speakers, they tend to over-emphasize the mids, which is actually normal in an open environment as they shouldn't go into the bass range given their size. I would have thought they would be…

Exceeded expectations

I bought these to replace the speakers in a Larson 21ft Bowrider (2004, 212 LSI). I don't listen to music on the boat; I only needed them to a) look good and b) function. Installation was easy (needed to drill new holes as Larson used an odd OEM size - not this product's fault) but didn't take long. After connecting to the stock Clarion head unit, I ran it. I was expecting AM radio quality sound (due to the brand, price and 5.25 inch speaker size). To my surprise, I was wrong! so much so that…

I expected better sound quality

I bought these speakers for my motorcycle and made a custom wooden case for them. they work and they are loud too. but the sound is a little distorted, the saddest thing is they don't produce bass. the frequency response of these speakers ranges from 120 Hz to 18 kHz. I'm a musician and I have good speakers at home. you can't even compare the sound of real brands with it. Even my Sony speakers that I bought 30 years ago sound better. So. For the average person, this can be a good choice for the

Decent value marine speakers

Neat build, looks like they'll hold up. Installed two years ago and they are in inclement weather most of the year and still holding up. I treat them with utter disrespect and can't ask much from a budget option like a boat speaker, but so far they're earning a good reputation. Worthy, not great, solid and outwardly quite strong construction! Good value for money, that's what they are. Year 3 Update: Two original speakers (not Boss 3rd and 4th discussed above) have been replaced with the same…

OK Shoe Speakers in Marine Speakers

This is the second set of these speakers that I have purchased. The first set in 2013 (lasted 5 years) and now in 2020 (lasted 7 years). Both sets of speakers rusted around the magnet that was on the cone and there was also corrosion on the electronic components soldered to the cone. The sound quality is ok - it starts to crack when the volume is turned up - note that the speakers are rated for a higher output than my radio. But my biggest disappointment is the connector plug on the speaker —…
