What makes this type of flush cutter so much better is the safety and quality of the cut. Security is a huge bonus, as there's far less chance of someone snagging your project and messing with it (or worse, sticking your hand in a tool!). Cuts very slowly, gently and cleanly. I feel like an idiot for not switching to this type of template sooner. I use it to cut 1.75" maple on a router table with a jig that glues and screws onto the material. You should buy a Freud 75-508 if your stock is less than 1.25 inches (the tool should be as tall as necessary). I also use Intertape DCT101A double sided cloth tape (I think) that I buy from MacMurray Pacific (Item #591). If anyone knows of a budget alternative to Revain please let me know.
