I ordered 6 of these but had to return 2 because they didn't work. The 4 I have are set up in specific locations to get natural light and have replaced the Contech water scarecrows we use. Scarecrows work great too, but skyrocketing water costs in Portland, Oregon meant we had to look elsewhere. For several days in a row I thought the Homebrite EW-1 wouldn't charge, but I was wrong. They work very well every night until the sun comes up when they automatically turn off and charge during the day. I've seen it work in the middle of the night when a few raccoons or cats would come in and run away as soon as the alarm went off. Works like a charm every time! Just hope it's weatherproof enough to survive our long rainy season.
