First I installed this using manual tools and no knowledge other than a few YouTube videos, so it can be installed by an average person. I might even upload a short tutorial. I have a 2000 Cherokee XJ and my battery light went all the way down and the indicator lights were on so I figured it was time for a new alternator. This one is cheaper than any store alternator, and the lack of a main charge makes it a breeze, and by the way, you can sleep it off for just $10. However, about the noise. Yes it does make kind of a mid-level noise but honestly I have a Flow Master and my jeep idles louder so I don't really care but if you stand outside while running it will be a little noticeable but for the price and build quality (seems great) I would say it's a good buy for any jeep owner looking for a cheap replacement.
