Review on πŸ•οΈ SUV Tent Car Tent Camo: Waterproof Tailgate Awning for Camping, Travel & Emergencies - Bug Out with Everybody Preps! by Matt Charlton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy assembly and disassembly.

First, the instructions are useless! The first time I put it on it was a bit uncomfortable, but the third time I already understood everything about what, where and how to fasten it. Always use these 3 points on the tent (they are easy to find after the first time); Logo, upper left and right corner. First put the logo side down and roll up the extended rain cover, find the loop and turn the roll over. Stand up, lean over the tent, grab the rain cover with both hands and press the roll together with the attached layer to the top corners/top of the tent: leave the tent wall/logo layer on the ground. Lift everything up and drop the crumpled part onto the back panel, allowing the logo/screen layer to hang down. By the way: only I do that, a 65-year-old woman. With two people, each person controls one side. It takes me less than 5 minutes to assemble and disassemble. The roll-up rain part has a top hook that I attach to the end of the roof rack (these are the first and last hooks because of the wind), two hooks in the bottom of the wheel well (two bungees) and a very low hook that hooks at a rear angle to the lower wing . Tighten the tensioners on both sides. The only negative I have is that the tensioner on the driver's side has a seam that has come undone but can be repaired. It's just a simple stitch on the tensioner. There should probably be some reinforced stitching due to the stretch from using the stretcher. I had rain when the rain cover was extended or folded, no water came out. There was wind but magnets were used on the sides as mentioned in another review. I have an empty towbar, put the tent on the towbar and magnetize on each side. To remove, unbuckle all straps, then stand with your chest toward the logo and grasp each top corner, pull and fold in half like a leaf. Spread on the floor, bend triangular spots. Bend from top to bottom. You may have to chop something up, but that belongs in the bag. I like it and the dog. I close the awning so the dog can't see anything at night or any creatures peek inside. I also hung a luggage net on the sunroof frame so my dog doesn't think he could jump out because the screen is almost invisible from the inside. I like that the illusion of my space is created even when the flap is closed. There are NO zippers on the inside of the screen zipper, making it impossible to open the screen from the inside and exit through the tailgate. Even if you enter from the back, there's no way to re-seal the screen, there's no pull tab to tug. I was shocked as tent zips always have reversible tabs that need to be undone. Hello manufacturers, please reinforce tighter seams and install double-sided zippers. I can live with using and resealing a side door. The first day I used it, people stopped by to ask about it. I've only been using it for a few weeks, I don't know how long it will last, but I like it.
