As another user mentioned I took out the broken piece of metal handle and put it in my old plastic suitcase because my 1997 plastic trim ring was a little tarnished and DEFINITELY didn't fit. The new case looked like my fairing was newer and in better shape, although it would fit perfectly. You will need a 3/16 bit and a 3/16 or large short rivet (1/2 inch) to hold the new handle in place. Also, when removing the trim ring, work from the back, top, or bottom and leave the front tongue as it is smaller and breaks easily. The tabs holding the trim ring are released by inserting a thin screwdriver into the gap between the ring and the handle and prying out to release the latch holding the ring.
