Review on Crystalline Precision Captured: Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM Lens Unveiled by Vinay Zaveree ᠌

There are deviations, in general it is tolerable.

I was very happy with the announcement of this model and, as the opportunity presented itself, I bought it. I really wanted to have a compact and lightweight lens for light walks and trips to visit. But the lens is very upset. Apparently due to a simplified optical design and cheap glasses, it produces a very uninteresting, flat and generally not sharp picture (everything is in order with focus), like a compact camera. In general, miracles do not happen. The price is very surprising, this lens costs even a little more than the 50mm stm, which is so good that it cannot even be compared. 3.032022. As a result, I took 24mm IS USM. The picture is sharp, beautiful and voluminous, plus a stabilizer. At the same time, the lens is also relatively small and light, which is just right for travel. 24mm STM forgot like a bad dream. In one of the reviews I read something like this: "There is no point in taking 24mm IS USM devices for owners of devices with a crop matrix, because there is a cheaper 24mm STM for them." Apparently the person did not compare them at all.

Pros
  • Compact size, light weight, stm motor, metal mount, nice design.
Cons
  • Picture quality. Produces a flat, soapy image like the 18-55mm, only it costs a lot more and doesn't have a stabilizer. Not a justified price for such a consumer goods.
