Review on Protective Power: Venum 'Kontact' Shin and Instep Guards for Maximum Defense by Ben Diesel

I wear them for kickboxing and MMA. They fit well (5ft 4in) and have decent padding, but you'll still feel the impact on your foot if you hit or get hit with full force. They are non-slip and the padding took a couple of weeks to adjust to my feet. My only issue with these pads is that there is an open area just around the top of the foot near the ankle. A blow to that particular area can be very painful if you expect a shin guard to soften the blow. Overall I think this is a good affordable option for people who are just starting out in martial arts or who prefer to train lightly. If you are looking for a shin guard with more protection or something to wear during tough sparring sessions I would recommend buying something else.
