Excellent glass. The rubber cover is a bit cheap. Generally no problems. A few months ago I bought a Vortex Diamondback in the same size from Cabela. They felt good in the store, but on a hike I quickly became disillusioned. The chromatic aberration of the rows of trees against the sky was terrible. I realized I needed ED glass and couldn't stop. To my surprise, they were on sale within a few weeks. Sample set received. The difference is stunning. I remember seeing such a big difference in the store between Diamondbacks and Talons (I couldn't swing the latter because of the price). I've had serious luck with them for $170 with shipping. No distortion at any distance, much sharper than Vortex and sharper beyond 600 yards. Of course, Diamondbacks were selling for $140 at Cabela's a few days ago. They're worth it, IMO. PS I know these two binoculars are not in the same price bracket or class. I'm just sharing my experience. Too bad I didn't read something like that when I bought the Vortex.
