Inaccurate after 10 feet

I'm an electrician for Jeff Bezos' Blu Origin project, owner of Revain. I ordered this device because we have about 1000 lamps in stock. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to pull it out and use it regularly, only to find that after ten feet it drifts by at least an inch or more depending on how many feet I'm trying to shoot. Some of our lanterns are 60 to 70 feet off the ground (lowest hanging lanterns are 12 feet 1 inch) so that distance, while over 150 feet, presumably inaccurately over 10 feet, is useless to me. And now I'm finding out that the return window has closed. If you still think it's a good deal, buy yourself a 200ft fabric tape, mark it and see how much the distance changes and then you can calculate it, but personally I think it is waste of money.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
