This is the second Fintie Spinning Case that I own. I have one on a 6th gen iPad and it's holding up great. After looking through 3 others for this iPad 8th Gen, I decided to return to this case. Beware, this is a bulky case. And as a result, he's very protective. Second, the alarm function works well, but you have to use an elastic strap to keep the case closed. Due to the thick inner lining, the magnet will not keep it closed. The cutouts for installing the iPad are deep and prevent it from slipping. To be honest, using a strap has bothered me for a long time, but given the protective nature of this case, the ability to pivot, and the strength to keep the pillow upright, I'm fine if I'm a little annoyed with the elastic strap. If you are looking for a minimalist case, this case is not for you. But if you like holding your iPad upright, this is a great case.
