I replaced the stock 6x9 front door speakers with a Polk MM6502 component kit and just because I'm old school I wanted my own Make speaker adapters. That was until I went to Home Depot and saw how much a piece of 1/4 inch plexiglass cost. I hadn't played car audio games in about 20 years and didn't realize how expensive Plexiglas had become so I ordered these instead. .Apparently (judging by some bad reviews) there's a bunch of 6.5" speakers that require a bigger cutout and you'll have to open the hole, but the 6.5" Polk speakers came with maybe 1/8 inch clearance in . I had to make 4 holes for the speaker but I drilled them very small so the screws were still fairly tight. I have read a number of reviews of these plates being thin and cracked and yes they are quite thin but they are not brittle. If you get too close to the edge with a screw, or try to just screw in a screw without a pilot hole, you can crack the plastic, but if you drill a pilot hole and don't overtighten the screws (or scale up and use machine screws, nuts, and washers ), there should be no problems. They were perfect for this setup and would work in the back where there are also 6x9 speakers. They are great for the price and I would use them again anytime.
