It was too easy to install. It took less than 1 minute per side and I did it with ONE HAND! All you need is a flathead screwdriver. Hold the cowl with one hand, use a screwdriver to slide the clips onto the old struts and remove them. Install new replacement posts. I've used a 2x2 piece of lumber to support the hood if needed for the past year because I've been putting off installing new braces. When I realized how easy it is, I immediately bought these replacement parts. They hold the hood in place and give enough of the last 6 inches of hood closure to allow the hood to drop to the "fully closed" position. All in all money well spent and the DIY solution is very easy.
