I have a Tivo Stream device that I wanted to use on our old Sony Trinitron. It's one of those HDTVs that was huge and so old that... it doesn't have HDMI. It had RCA and YPBPR, so we tried the RCA converter first. It worked, but we lost some decent image quality. This converter/scaler does the same thing but the image quality is much better. I was able to get 480 and 720 but not 1080. I'm very happy with it as the TV still works and we can get apps through Tivo. Also, the audio cables are separated so we can plug them into our receiver and not listen through the awful TV speakers. I'm happy with it so far. That will be the case until we move on to the smart flat screen TV.
