I have always changed the oil myself since I bought my first car in 1962. It takes a PhD to fix cars these days, but I still love changing the oil because I know it's done right. One of the worst parts of this process is spilling oil when removing the drain plug. Even with rubber gloves, it sometimes runs down the arm and almost always drips onto the street. I installed Fumoto on both my wife's 2016 Civic and my 2019 Subaru Forester. Installation was 1-2-3. I used the washer that came with it and was careful not to over tighten it as the instructions are careful. Also, I made sure to tighten the valve on the body section. They suggested hand tightening and then another 1/4 turn (I think). This worked well as there were no leaks after adding new oil. I will have to wait many kilometers before I can test the drain function. I also ordered a plastic nipple and hose to eliminate the possibility of spilling even 0.0001 drops of oil on my next oil change. This is an installation for the lifetime of the car, so each oil change takes just minutes with no fuss or mess. Highly recommended for all DIY enthusiasts out there.
