I'm very good with packing so I had no problems. The instructions are mostly pictures only, so study the pictures and become familiar with the trainer mount before you begin. If the bar that the tensioner fits into had fallen out of the bracket, but I had looked at it beforehand so it wasn't that hard to put it back together after removing the bike from the bracket, then I could reassemble the tensioner . Very durable. Not as loud as I thought. I had to upgrade the iPad's output with speakers/headphones to hear the device trade. The speaker on the iPad isn't great anyway, I expected to have to. I had to build something to use the iPad in front of the bike as I didn't buy a bike mount accessory. I have a mid 80's (26") hybrid mountain bike/street bike. The mount was wide enough for the bike's wider rear wheel, and its 21 gears are enough at a trainer speed to get a good workout. comes with a front stand and hub (which was identical to the one on my bike so it wasn't necessary). If you want to simulate a serious hill or ride on the beach this may not be for you - may not have enough resistance.
