Review on πŸ”² Rugged Ridge 11401.32 Grille Insert, Black: The Perfect Fit for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK by David Miller

The insert looks great and is stable. Brackets aren't the best.

Overall this is a very durable screen that looks good and will protect your Jeep's grille. I bought because of the good price and because the holes seemed to offer good protection without looking like they could restrict airflow too much. I just installed this on a 2016 Wrangler Sport 2 Door. I don't think the way of connecting the insert to the grate is the best. I understand the concept and it holds it in place, but I feel like it can move or wobble. The spacers could only be inserted without any problems using the clamps supplied and actually rumbled when knocked. I don't know if I would have noticed him in the cockpit, but I still wouldn't want him to move. Also, the clips used to attach the liner were not bent exactly perpendicular to each other, requiring additional bending for a better fit. Even after flexing it even more, the brace still didn't fit the insert, which contributed to the looseness I felt. A good solution might be to add an extra bracket. As it was I added some of these with zip ties between the grill slats. They worked great and kept the insert safe. https://www.amazon.com/Mounting-100-Pack-Black-Speciality-Cable/dp/B01KVVS6B2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491075637&sr=8-1&keywords=1+inch+cable+tie+mountSome reviews Comment on the top screw of the brackets that push the grille up a bit. It does, but I was able to install it by pulling on the grill when inserting. Not the prettiest solution, but it exists. I have attached some photos of the problems and solutions.
