However, the label on the packaging describes the material as silicon oxide, which is ordinary glass. This material is gray in color instead of the traditional green silicon carbide (part of the product description) used to hand dress tungsten carbide cutting tools such as lathe tools. If it can withstand the hand dressing of carbide lathes, then it's worth it.
