Drinking hot tea :) in sports and leisure accessories

Disclaimer! I purposely use it in such a way that mfr says no! I am not advocating anything, just sharing my experience. Do not do that. First my 1 complaint. It doesn't have the "easy-to-clean lid" like the one my mom got. However, it is simpler than the old-style automatic seal. As I only use it for pure tea (Lapsang Souchong - if you haven't tried it, order now - Twinnings is a great inexpensive way to try this - it's not the best option but it's my 'daily driver' " and I *am* a tea snob.) and water, I rinse it out every day and let it air dry if I remember, then rinse it in soapy water from time to time. I fill it with hot but not boiling liquid. I won't burn myself, but it's slightly above my drinking temperature. Hold it upright and press the button to release the pressure before drinking. Once I didn't and got tea from the opening in the lid in my nose. Otherwise I had no problems. I wanted a 24 ounce auto seal mug and that was my only option. The handle version is excellent, but it only weighs 16 ounces and I drink *a lot* of tea. Even when it's empty after a hot drink, you can still hear a faint, repetitive "pop" sound - it took me a while to discover that it was just the pressure of the heated metal being released . Don't be silly and this works great for hot tea.
